Pillgwenlly - or Pill as it's commonly known, was at first sight a scruffy and dirty part of Newport. But when you looked behind the facade, you would see a lot of warmth, and a colourful comunity. Most of Pill was demolished in the beginnig of the seventies, to give room for new, more modern houses. Pill also contains the old docks and the western ends of the Newport Transporter Bridge.
